David Ortiz lined a single up the middle and decided to snap his bat in half anyway
When a hitter is frustrated, there are few things more satisfying than snapping his bat in two like a twig. Whether you've struck out or come up juuuuust short of a dinger, it's definitely your bat's fault, and it's going to get what's coming.
Except, well, David Ortiz didn't have too much of a reason to be frustrated after his last at-bat on Tuesday. Sure, Boston was about to fall to the Rangers, 7-2, but still -- Papi had just lined a single to center field, hoping to spark a ninth-inning rally. And yet, for whatever reason, he was deeply disappointed in that particular piece of lumber:
You know what they say: When you're having possibly the best season of your career at age 40, nothing short of a dinger is acceptable.
