Daniel Murphy's signs back to the third-base coach from second base looked like Charades

Daniel Murphy has served as a playoff hero before, and he sought to replicate his heroics with the 2015 Mets against the Cubs, this time in Game 5 of the NLDS presented by T-Mobile. The Nationals ultimately fell, 9-8, but back in the second, Murphy homered off Kyle Hendricks in his first at-bat to put them ahead, 1-0, kicking off a four-run frame. Four innings later, the Nationals were in a jam, trailing 8-5 and trying to get back into the game. Runners were on first and third with two outs and Mike Montgomery on the mound, and Murphy connected again on an RBI double to left field. That made it a two-run margin. Murphy remained focused and flashed some signals back to his third-base coach after the play. Something about them seemed familiar, though:
Oh, me? We're playing Charades! Fun! Hand flapping like a mouth? An actor! Gesturing left and right? A vaudeville act! Buster Keaton!
Nailed it. OK, maybe those were, in fact, just signals and not Charades, but regardless, Murphy had a nice night. Tune in to Cubs-Dodgers NLCS Game 1 presented by Camping World on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on TBS.
