Carlos Gomez is hoping no one saw him faceplant on Wednesday
Carlos Gomez was running in the direction of second base to back up a play on Wednesday. After it became clear that Jean Segura had stopped Greg Dobbs' grounder on the infield, Gomez slowed into a leisurely trot. But that didn't stop the Marlins Park turf from felling the Brewers center fielder, as he nose-dived to Earth.
The play ended up not involving him at all, so Gomez could have reasonably hoped no cameras recorded his tumble. That hope, however, did not turn out to be reality. Sorry, Carlos.
