Carlos Correa and Marwin Gonzalez combined to pull off a crazy out on Jonathan Lucroy
The Astros continued their red-hot play with their MLB-best 40th victory on Saturday night, a 6-5 triumph over the Rangers. They've won nine games in a row and are clicking on all aspects of the game.
That includes defense, as they proved on Saturday, thanks to Carlos Correa and Marwin Gonzalez. With one out in the fourth, Jonathan Lucroy hit a grounder deep into the hole at shortstop.
It was a tough play, but Correa was able to get to it, though he wouldn't have pulled it off without a tip of the hat to his first baseman.
Gonzalez went far off the base and put the tag down on Lucroy for the out.
That's how teams become 40-win teams by June 3.
