Atlanta's own Cam Newton wears a big hat, eats Cracker Jack at Braves game
What do you do when you're one of the biggest NFL stars on the planet and it's the offseason? Well, you go back home and take in a baseball game, of course.
The Braves faced off against the Mets on Saturday night at Turner Field, and they had a very special guest in the building as well: Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. His visit, by the way, came less than a day after NBA MVP Stephen Curry attended the Astros and Red Sox game for a David Ortiz photo-op.
Newton, a distinguished alum of Westlake High School in Atlanta, posed before the game with some Braves gear:

During the game, Newton was spotted on camera wearing a big, black hat and enjoying some Cracker Jack with his entourage … no sign of any peanuts, though.
Given that he's sitting there enjoying one of the most celebrated ballpark snacks in history, we also have to imagine he was root, root, rooting for the home team as well.
As for that hat, Pharrell would be proud.
