It's officially tater-mashin' season, because Bryce Harper just hit two homers in one game
Opening Day is still two weeks away, but reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper helped announce the official start of tater-mashin' season when he launched two dingers over the wall during a Spring Training game against the Tigers on Sunday in Lakeland, Fla.
Harper hadn't gone deep all spring (it's cool, he'd only had 21 at-bats) when he stepped in to face former AL MVP Justin Verlander, and promptly deposited a baseball into the Nats bullpen out in right-center field:
Not yet satisfied with his own contribution, Harper doubled down on his first dinger by teeing off on another Verlander offering in the fifth inning.
Upon witnessing Harper's second demonstration of power, new Nationals pitching coach Mike Maddux turned to new Nationals manager Dusty Baker and reflected on how wonderful their office life could be this season:

When most folks talk about perks of the job, they mean the literal perk provided by free coffee in the break room. But who cares about free coffee when bearing witness day-in and day-out as Harper mounts his defense of that NL MVP Award?
