Brandon Phillips and the Reds went full 'WHO DEY' to cheer on the Bengals in the NFL playoffs
Anyone who's ever found a rando roommate on Craigslist can attest to the fact that inhabiting the same space isn't always a solid indicator of burgeoning friendship. Geography is often important, but friendship requires an inherent compatibility. And shoutouts on Twitter. It obviously requires lots of shoutouts on Twitter.
It was with this in mind that Brandon Phillips, Billy Hamilton and the Reds went full "WHO DEY" in an effort to support their hometown Bengals. Cincinnati's NFL franchise won the AFC North this season and drew its division-rival Steelers in the first round of the NFL playoffs. On Saturday, the Bengals hosted the Steelers, so the Reds spent the day promoting the game and offering their encouragement on Twitter:

For their part, Phillips and Hamilton were hanging out with Bengals fans at the game:
Met some idols of mine tonight, thanks so much guys, WHO DEY!! Let's get that win! @DatDudeBP @BillyHamilton @Reds pic.twitter.com/J4lcQQh8IJ

Unfortunately for Cincinnatians, the cheers from Phillips and the Reds didn't seem to be enough as they trailed the Steelers, 6-0, at halftime. Reds fan and fill-in starting quarterback A.J. McCarron led the Bengals back and connected with A.J. Green for a late touchdown to give Cincinnati a 16-15 lead with less than two minutes to play, but the Steelers drove down and kicked a game-winning field goal with 14 seconds left.
