Brandon McCarthy thinks an appreciation of Steph Curry is the common thread among all Americans

Either "Space Jam" is real and Steph Curry somehow found a way to harness the powers that the Monstars stole from the players of the Dream Team, or he's simply the most exciting baskeball player alive right now.
On Saturday night, Curry tied an NBA record by hitting 12 3-pointers in the Warriors' overtime victory over Kevin Durant and the Thunder. He also broke the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a season (which he already held), and won the game with this buzzer-beating dagger lightyears away from the basket:

All told Curry dropped 46 points on 14-24 from the field (12-16 from behind the arc) to help the Warriors reach the 53-5 mark (!!!). The MLB equivalent of that record would be if a team started out the 2016 season by going 104-10. Try to wrap your brain around that for a second.
Like we said, the man may not even be human. His video game-style antics are so impressive, in fact, that Dodgers pitcher/Twitter genius Brandon McCarthy posited that Curry might be the one unifying force that could bridge a growing number of philosophical divides in the good ol' U.S. of A.

Toilet paper up people, toilet paper down people, sabermatricians, people who prefer more traditional metrics like wins and RBIs, Yankees fans, Red Sox fans, Beliebers, non-Beliebers ... everyone in this country can and should get behind the fact that Curry can play ball. Maybe he and McCarthy should run together in 2020 and pose a legitimate challenge to the probable presidential administration of Kanye West.
