Bob Costas had some fun at Bob Uecker's expense in his Hall of Fame speech

On Saturday, broadcaster Bob Costas was honored at the Hall of Fame with the Ford C. Frick Award, given annually to a broadcaster who has made a major contribution to baseball. Costas has been a part of some of the most memorable moments in the history of the game and worked alongside other recipients of the award, including Vin Scully, Tony Kubek and Bob Uecker.
In his acceptance speech, Costas reflected on his distinguished career, including his first big gig alongside Kubek ...

... to what made Game 1 of the 1988 World Series so special:

But as you can see in the clip atop this post, Costas saved his best jokes for Uecker, his longtime partner in the booth, pointing out the gap between Ueck's celebrated announcing career and his lackluster career as a player -- a career whose highlights include both leading the league in passed balls as a catcher and once escaping a rundown against the Phillies.
Fortunately, we'll be able to continue to enjoy Costas' award-winning career.
