You can own a convertible covered in hundreds of MLB autographs
You can buy a car signed by more than 600 MLBers
Once upon a time (specifically 2000), in a magical land known as Houston, a team called the Astros started their season in a brand new ballpark. As etiquette demands, they celebrated this momentous occasion by purchasing a new Beemer and asking visiting teams to autograph it throughout the year:
At the end of the season, a California woman bought the car (with the proceeds going to charity) and later sold it to Saskatoon's Vern Klassen. Klassen then proceeded to drive it all the way back to Canada. Yes, he took a vehicle covered in over 600 MLB signatures, including Hank Aaron, Felipe Alou and Vin Scully, on a road trip. According to the StarPhoenix, it had its perks:
Two elderly women pulled up beside them and appraised the situation.
"Oh," one of them said ..."You must be a very important man to have all these people sign your car."
Now you too can gain the respect of restaurant-goers and memorabilia collectors, because Klassen is putting the car up for sale. If you buy it, just be careful where you leave the keys:
