Here's Bill de Blasio singing 'Kansas City' to fulfill his World Series wager
Bill de Blasio sings 'Kansas City' to fulfill WS bet
With his Red Sox missing the postseason for the second straight year, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio adopted the Mets as his team this October. He and his wife, Chirlane McCray, even dressed up as members of the Metropolitans for Halloween. And, when the Mets faced the Royals in the World Series, de Blasio also represented his city by engaging in a friendly bet with Kansas City Mayor Sly James.
... I've always wondered how de Blasio's singing voice is.
Since the Royals topped the Mets in five games, we're treated to Royals-jersey clad de Blasio's rendition (with some assistance from American Ballet Theatre students) of "Kansas City" -- a Kauffman Stadium staple -- which along with some New York cheesecakes, made up his end of the bet.
They said "Say CHEESEcake!" But I said "CHAMPIONS!" instead. Thx @BilldeBlasio! Now about that song..? #SlyBlasioBet pic.twitter.com/tJNuOP8NMw

Sure, New Yorkers are probably still smarting from their World Series loss, but seeing your mayor do his best Blues Brothers impression has to be a pretty good consolation.
