Let your eyes feast upon the best photos from World Series Game 1

(David J. Phillip)

Heroes and legends are created in the World Series. And, often, the best way to remember those moments is through a photograph. An iconic image can attach itself to your brain and you'll never forget it -- like the shot of Bill Mazeroski's Game 7 home run from the fan's view or Brad Lidge falling to his knees in 2008
So, let's take a look back at the Red Sox's 8-4 Game 1 win against the Dodgers through the magic of photography.
Rain battered Boston throughout the afternoon, leaving a gorgeous rainbow covering the field before the start of the game:

There was still time for friends to hang out ... before the game started:

The Prudential Building spoke for the city of Boston:

The stadium was packed:

Two of the best pitchers in the game squared off. And while it wasn't the pitcher's duel many expected, Clayton Kershaw and Chris Sale each showed off some serious breaking balls:

Mookie Betts stole tacos for America and, obviously, smiled about it:

Matt Kemp returned to LA this offseason and put the Dodgers on the board with a home run over the Monster:

But it was Eduardo Nunez's pinch-hit three-run homer that gave the Red Sox breathing room. He couldn't help but yell around the bases:

Or howl as freezing cold water was poured on him afterward:
