Celebrate the very best and wackiest mascot moments of 2016

If the baseball season is a piece of grand drama -- a six-month miniseries filled with drama and pathos -- then the mascots are the sitcoms we watch in between. They are the providers of lovable antics and dugout dances that can make children laugh with glee and the Grinch's heart grow three sizes in an instant.
With no baseball on the docket, take a minute for the greatest comedy there is with some of the best mascot moments from 2016.
Leading the band
Sorry to the conductors out there, but most of the time, you guys aren't getting people excited. The giant heads of Dennis Eckersley and Rickey Henderson, though? That's a different story

Evil Twins
Bet you didn't know that Orbit had a brother, huh? While Orbit is a provider of laughs every day of the season, his twin Norbit is just like the 9 percent-on-Rotten-Tomatoes rated Eddie Murray film: Never funny.

Jason Kipnis: Mascot villain
Some of the best moments of mascot mania were some of the worst for mascots themselves. Enter: Jason Kipnis, second baseman and villain to all those furry creatures
Woe be to those who come near Kipnis when he has pool noodles:

Or, really, come near him at all:

Mascot fight!
Even when Kipnis isn't waging war, the mascots will battle with each other. This is Raymond's elbow of doom

Check your health
Did you know that mascots need check-ups? Of course they do, to ensure their pelts are healthy and shiny.

Pool parties
What happens when you invite mascots to a pool party? Turns out they're too tall to even fit in the pool

Mascot pranks
What do you do when a baseball player shows you up? You try and show him up in return. This really looks like something from a 1980s movie, where the team captain shows up the band nerd:

Up on the trends
There may be no group more into what's cool than Mascots. They proved it in abundance during the height of the Pokemon Go craze. But, while they're familiar with it, they aren't very good at actually playing.
Orbit struggled:

And the Phillie Phanatic really came up short:

Can't play ball
Baseball obviously didn't work out for them. Football isn't any easier:

Dancers?
Oh, they can dance:
