Ben Affleck got naked for 'Gone Girl' but would NOT wear a Yankees hat

Ben Affleck will get naked, won't wear Yankees hat

We know you've been distracted by the postseason, but you should know that the Earth is still spinning on its axis and some people are still doing the things that people do: they're breathing and eating and sleeping and commuting and, apparently, still going to the movies.

The long-anticipated film adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel Gone Girl has finally hit theaters. It stars Ben Affleck and is directed by David Fincher. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Ben Affleck revealed that he and his director were at odds over wardrobe choice in one particular scene.

Affleck -- who gets naked in the film -- unequivocally refused to wear a Yankees hat for a scene that takes place in New York:

"I said, 'David, I love you, I would do anything for you,'" Mr. Affleck recalled. "'But I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can't. I can't wear it because it's going to become a thing, David. I will never hear the end of it. I can't do it.' And I couldn't put it on my head."
While Mr. Fincher stood firm - "he said it was like it's foregone, it's destiny" - Mr. Affleck did too.
"It was an uprising; it was a coup, I rioted," Mr. Affleck said, "It was a one-man riot against the Yankees."
Finally, after what Mr. Affleck described as "a lot of shuttle diplomacy, so much back-and-forth," they compromised: Mr. Affleck wore a Mets cap.

There you have it, folks. Ben Affleck: Cool with getting naked in a movie, but absolutely NOT cool with wearing a Yankees hat.

Note: It should be known that Affleck's no-hat policy apparently only applies to the American League as he donned a Cardinals shirt while filming as well.
