Dean wore 'Mr. 300' to commemorate striking out
Despite his multiple Cy Young Awards and the likely title of best pitcher on the planet entering the 2018 season, Max Scherzer had never struck out 300 batters in a year. That changed on Tuesday night, when Scherzer became just the sixth player since 1990 to reach the mark -- striking out the Marlins' Austin Dean with a biting slider.
Given how dominant Scherzer is and how many players struck out against the right-hander, there's no shame in going down against him. So, for Wednesday's game, Dean showed up in the dugout with "Mr. 300" written in tape on his back.
Props to @AustinDean_3 for being a good sport about being strikeout victim #300 for @Max_Scherzer 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/aauY7a9o9l

Something tells me they're not going to make a baseball movie about this milestone ...
