John Axford matches last year's Oscar score by going 17-for-24
As he does every year, MLB's official film guru John Axford delivered his Oscar predictions this weekend. And things started off well on Sunday night.

Very well.

But then, perhaps because we were tweeting about his tally every five minutes, the A's reliever began to falter. He missed out on a few of the technical categories, chose Sylvester Stallone instead of Mark Rylance in the Best Supporting Actor category and mistakenly picked "The Revenant" over "Spotlight" for Best Picture. Still, Axford finished with a very solid 17-for-24, the same mark he reached last year. And that, ladies and gentlemen, deserves a hearty round of applause.
