After setting the Marlins home run record, Giancarlo Stanton is on pace for absurdity

According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, Stanton is also the first Marlin to ever homer in five straight games. If he were to keep up that pace for a full season (which even for Stanton, is pretty much impossible), he would shatter not only franchise records, but single-season records with 162 home runs. Over his last 34 games, he's on a 104-home run pace over a full season. Alas, if you're not a fan of short sample sizes and prefer actual predictions, he's on pace for around 60. Either way, as long as this keeps up, Stanton's at-bats will be appointment viewing.
With 10 August dingers, Stanton has the same number of homers this month as the Rays and one more than the Pirates. In both stature and output, Stanton is a team unto himself.
