Adrian Beltre and Adrian Beltre's head were faced with their worst fear -- a walk-off celebration
Beltre works walk-off walk, teammates mob his head
If there is one thing we know about Adrian Beltre, it is that he loathes anyone going anywhere near his head. Sure, this hardly needs to be said -- we've seen supercuts, we've seen brushes with certain death, we've seen it all.
... or have we?
There is one situation so diabolical, so full of pure, unadulterated head-touching, that we have not let ourselves speak of it until now. A situation, say, involving several teammates, in some sort of celebratory context, in which jumping and touching a player's head is customary.
That's right. On Monday against the Mariners, Adrian Beltre found himself in the middle of a walk-off celebration. It went about how you'd expect:
Not content with merely doling out mental trauma, Rougned Odor and Elvis Andrus moved onto the Gatorade cooler assault. Thankfully, though, Beltre was too wise, fending them off with only baseballs for ammunition and his own quick wits. Truly, in these turbulent times, no one's head is safe.
