92-year-old WWII vet throws Mariners' first pitch, displays energy and agility we can all be jealous of
Burke Waldron began his military service in July 1943 in Pearl Harbor and was part of both the Makin Island and Saipan invasions. He retired in 1946, ranking as a Petty Officer, 2nd Class.
To honor this American hero on Memorial Day, the Mariners asked Waldron to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before their game against the Padres. And the 92-year-old didn't just walk out to do his duty, he ambled to the field faster than most people half his age -- delivering a fine toss from the mound:
Somebody needs to make this into a baseball card.
Afterward, he got to shake hands with someone he's always wanted to meet. We're guessing the feeling was mutual for Edgar:
Burke specifically requested to meet Edgar. Because when you throw out the first pitch at 92, you gotta meet Edgar. pic.twitter.com/Xv40xXDQnt

Seattle followed the ceremonies by winning the game, 9-3.
