Cardinals Blood Drive

Each year, the Cardinals team up with FanDuel Sports Network and the American Red Cross to help save lives by encouraging fans to donate blood at the annual St. Louis Cardinals Blood Drive.

Since the drive’s inception in 2005, more than 20,000 blood donations have been collected during the summer drive, which comes at a critical time of year for the Red Cross when donations are low. In addition, the Cardinals are proud to support various Red Cross Blood Drives and initiatives throughout the year. Those who have a desire to help others can step up to the plate and help save lives by participating in our next event.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department + St. Louis Cardinals Blood Drive

What: The Cardinals and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (STLMD) are teaming up for a blood drive in honor of local area first responders.

In 2022, we held our first blood drive in honor of STLMPD officers Colin Ledbetter and Nathan Spiess, who were injured in the line of duty. Both needed blood transfusions due to their injuries, with Officer Ledbetter receiving 39 units of whole blood to save his life. Officers Ledbetter and Spies have since recovered, but we continue the annual drive to honor and support local first responders.

When: Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 12 – 6 p.m.

What: 22nd Annual St. Louis Cardinals Blood Drive, with the American Red Cross and FanDuel Sports Network

When: June 10, 11, 12 (2025) with a special kickoff drive at Busch Stadium on June 2

Where: At more than 20 locations in the St. Louis, Greater St. Louis, Metro East and Southwestern Illinois, including Busch Stadium!

Who: All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients

Goal: This year the goal is to collect more than 1,000 units of lifesaving blood

How to donate blood

To donate blood, simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device and use sponsor code CARDS to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive.
