Special Advisor to Baseball Operations
Will Sharp is entering his 11th season with the Houston Astros and was promoted to Special Advisor to Baseball Operations in November 2021. Sharp is focused on management of the Astros’ Major League and 40-man rosters, in-game strategy, and facilitating communication within and outside of Baseball Operations.
Prior to this role, Sharp worked as an Analyst, Pro Scouting and Manager, Major League Strategy while based in Houston, beginning in December 2017. Sharp was originally hired by the Astros in December 2012 as a professional scout based out of Athens, GA, a role in which he was responsible for evaluations of Major and minor league players and contributed work to arbitration and other roster management decisions in the offseason.
Sharp began his career as a Baseball Operations intern with the Los Angeles Dodgers during his sophomore year of college in January 2007. He then worked for the Dodgers as a Baseball Operations Assistant with a focus on pro scouting, serving as a liaison between the club’s professional scouts and its front office decision makers, from November 2009 to November 2012.
A Los Angeles native and 2009 graduate of the University of Southern California with a major in Economics and a minor in Religion, Sharp resides in Houston, TX with his wife, Tatiana, and their two dogs, Pooch and Penny.
