Vice President, Finance
The 2023 season will be Douglas Seckel’s 12th with the Astros as the Vice President of Finance. Doug’s responsibilities include treasury and debt management, investments, and general accounting for both the Houston Astros and the Astros Foundation.
Before coming on board with the Astros, Doug was treasurer for the Crane Capital Group assisting with financial management for the various Crane companies. Prior to joining the Crane Capital Group in 2010, Doug was Deputy Director of Finance for the City of Houston, Texas responsible for accounting, auditing, cost analysis and federal grants. From 1989 to 2007, Doug was controller, treasurer and CFO of Eagle Global Logistics as company revenues grew from $9 million to $3.2 billion and had an instrumental role in taking the company public in 1995. Prior to 1989, Seckel held various accounting and auditing positions for several state and local governments.
Seckel is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a major in accounting.
