LATEST INJURIES
LHP Lucas Gilbreath
Injury: Left shoulder inflammation
Expected return: Opening Day
Status: Gilbreath saw his 2022 season end early because of a left elbow injury and underwent Tommy John surgery in the spring of '23. Mysterious left shoulder pain limited him to three appearances in '24. Upon beginning preparations for '25, he revealed that doctors found the source of the problem, and performed neurogenic thoracic outlet surgery in his left neck-shoulder area on Oct. 30. They removed two muscles and did a cleanup to relieve nerve pressure. He is considered full-go for '25. (Updated Feb. 14)
RHP Germán Márquez
Injury: Right elbow stress reaction
Expected return: Opening Day
Status: Underwent Tommy John surgery in 2023 and returned for just one start in 2024; Márquez passed offseason checkups with flying colors (Updated Feb. 11)
OF Sean Bouchard
Injury: Fractured left hamate
Expected return: Opening Day
Status: Bouchard underwent surgery for a hamate bone issue in early November, and he reports being fully healed (Updated Feb. 11)
