White Sox to recall Yoan Moncada, Brad Goldberg from Triple-A

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox will recall second baseman Yoán Moncada, the No. 1 ranked prospect in baseball according to MLB.com and Baseball America, and right-handed pitcher Brad Goldberg from Class AAA Charlotte prior to tomorrow's game vs. Los Angeles-NL.
Moncada, 22, is batting .282 (87-309) with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, 57 runs scored, 49 walks, 17 stolen bases and a .377 on-base percentage in 80 games with Charlotte this season, his first in the White Sox organization after being acquired from Boston in a five-player trade on December 6, 2016. 
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Moncada, a switch-hitter, ranks fourth in the International League in runs scored and fifth in stolen bases. He was named to the IL All-Star Team, was selected to play for the World Team at the All-Star Futures Game for the second straight season and was named IL Batter of the Week for May 1-7. 
Moncada was named Baseball America's Minor League Player of the Year in 2016 after hitting .294/.407/.511 with 31 doubles, six triples, 15 home runs, 62 RBI, 94 runs scored and 45 stolen bases in 106 games between Class A Salem and Class AA Portland in the Red Sox organization. He also made his major-league debut in September 2016, going 4-19 (.211) with one RBI and three runs scored in eight games (four starts at third base). Moncada collected his first major-league hit on September 3 at Oakland, a double off Daniel Mengden.
A native of Abreus, Cuba, Moncada is a career .285 (291-1,020) hitter with 59 doubles, 12 triples, 35 home runs, 136 RBI, 212 runs scored and 111 steals in 267 games over three minor-league seasons. He owns a .390 on-base and .470 slugging percentage while succeeding on 82.8 (111-134) percent of his stolen base attempts.
Moncada originally was signed by Boston as an international free agent on March 12, 2015. He played two seasons (2012-13) for Cienfuegos of Cuba's Serie Nacional, hitting .277 (84-303) over 101 games while teaming with current White Sox first baseman José Abreu.
Moncada will wear uniform No. 10.
