Twins Recall Enns From Rochester; Option Vargas

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitcher Dietrich Enns from Triple-A Rochester and he will start tonight vs. Milwaukee. Enns was recently acquired by the Twins from the Yankees in the Jamie García trade on July 30.
Enns, 26, went 1-1 with a 2.29 ERA (39.1 IP, 10 ER), 10 walks and 37 strikeouts in seven starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season and pitched 6.0 innings in a losing effort in his lone start for Rochester on August 4. In 111 career appearances (51 starts) over five minor league seasons, he is 27-15 with a 1.89 ERA (395.2 IP, 83 ER), 148 walks and 401 strikeouts.
To make room for Enns on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned first baseman/designated hitter Kennys Vargas to Triple-A Rochester.
