Tigers agree to 2018 contract with Jose Iglesias
DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with infielder José Iglesias, thus avoiding arbitration.
Iglesias, 28, established career highs with 33 doubles, six home runs and 54 RBI during the 2017 season, while hitting .255 (118x463) with 56 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 130 games. He led the team with 13 three-hit games, and ranked second on the team (min. 100 at-bats) with a .327 (36x110) batting average with runners in scoring position.
Iglesias has played in 531 games over six seasons at the Major League level, hitting .270 (478x1770) with 204 runs scored, 94 doubles, six triples, 16 home runs and 140 RBI.
