Royals in the community

KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals will host the Milwaukee Brewers (April 24-25) and Chicago White Sox (April 26-29).
Royals Charities will host its first two major events of the year, the annual Golf Tournament (April 23) and Broadcast Auction (April 26). Royals players will also participate in events throughout the week, including the first Dream Factory visit of the year (April 25), KCP&L VIP Kids (April 27), Crown Town 5K (April 28) and Alex's Lemonade Stand Youth Baseball Tournament (April 28).
Please note, the postponed game from Sunday, April 1 has been rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday, April 28. See below for more details.
Monday, April 23 - Off Day
• Royals Charities Celebrity Golf Tournament - Royals Charities is set to host the eleventh-annual Royals Charities Celebrity Golf Tournament featuring current and former Royals at the Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe, Kan. Sponsors, including Aramark, Bluemedia, DEMDACO, Edelman & Thompson, MillerCoors, Pepsi, Price Chopper, Sprint and The University of Kansas Health Systems. These sponsors purchased teams to golf with Royals celebrities, enjoy great food and beverages provided by local restaurants and win fantastic prizes. Proceeds from the event benefit Royals Charities and Special Olympics Kansas City.
Tuesday, April 24 - Milwaukee Brewers vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
• 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - A portion of the proceeds from the nightly Royals Charities fundraiser will benefit Charlie's House. The organization will also distribute information outside the Royals Charities headquarters. www.royals.com/5050.
Wednesday, April 25 - Milwaukee Brewers vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
• Dream Factory - Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast. Before the game, Royals Charities will present a check to Dream Factory to help fulfill dream requests throughout the year.
Thursday, April 26 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
• Royals Charities Broadcast Auction - Royals Charities and FOX Sports Kansas City will partner for the ninth-annual Broadcast Auction, which will take place throughout the television broadcast when the Royals host the Chicago White Sox. Viewers will have the opportunity to bid on several unique experiences with players and purchase special ticket packages for just $49. The Broadcast Auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. during Royals Live and run until the last out of the 9th inning. For more information, visit www.royals.com/broadcastauction.
Friday, April 27 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
• KCP&L VIP Kids - The Royals and KCP&L will host foster care children and their families to a select games throughout the season. Each child from Foster Adopt Connect will receive complimentary tickets, a special t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John's Pizza. The special guests will also participate in a meet-and-greet with a Royals player before the game.
Saturday, April 28 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m. & 7:15 p.m. - Split Doubleheader
• Noah's Crown Town 5K - Starting pitcher Danny Duffy will appear at the third annual Noah's Crown Town 5K. Proceeds benefit Noah's Bandage Project. Duffy also supports Noah's Bandage Project through his Strikeout Childhood Cancer program. He donates $1,000 to the organization for each strikeout he throws.
• Alex Gordon to Appear at Youth Tournament - The fourth-annual Alex Gordon Classic, presented by Price Chopper to benefit the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, will take place April 27-29. Prior to the second game of the split doubleheader, Gordon will meet the top three teams who raised the most money for the foundation leading up to the event. The top two fundraising teams will be on-field before the game with Papa John's Pizza, who will present a check to the foundation.
• Kennedys to host Group from Whiteman Air Force Base - Each Saturday, Pitcher Ian Kennedy and his wife, Allison, will host a group from the Kansas City area in a fully-catered Dugout Suite. This day, guests from Whiteman Air Force Base will meet Kennedy prior to the 7:15 p.m. game and receive a special gift from the family. At previous games this season, the Kennedys hosted Folds of Honor and City Union Mission Family Center.
Sunday, April 29 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.
