The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes from his rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list (right triceps inflammation).
Right-handed pitcher Parker Markel has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis to make room for Holmes on the 25-man active roster.
