Rockies select contract of LHP Harrison Musgrave from Triple-A Albuquerque

The Colorado Rockies announced Monday that they have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave from Triple-A Albuquerque and have placed left-hander Chris Rusin on the 10-day disabled list with a right intercostal muscle strain. Additionally, the Rockies have transferred right-handed pitcher Carlos Estévez from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow strain.
 
• Musgrave, 26, will be making his first appearance on the Major League roster … in three starts with Albuquerque, has gone 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA (10.2 IP, 4 ER), two walks and 10 strikeouts … attended his third Major League Spring Training this year and went 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA (10.0 IP, 8 ER), three walks and 15 strikeouts in eight relief appearances … in his Minor League career, is 31-19 with a 4.02 ERA (413.2 IP, 185 ER), 409 hits, 122 walks and 344 strikeouts in 80 appearances, 78 starts, across parts of five seasons … the Morgantown, W.V., native was originally selected by Colorado in the eighth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of West Virginia University … he will wear #59. • Rusin, 31, has posted a 4.97 ERA (12.2 IP, 7 ER) with 11 hits, six walks and 11 strikeouts across eight relief appearances this season … pitched 1.2 scoreless innings with one walk and four strikeouts against the Cubs on Sunday, his fourth scoreless appearance of the season … made a career-high 60 relief appearances in 2017, going 5-1 with two saves and a career-best 2.65 ERA (85.0 IP, 25 ER) … in 92 relief appearances with Colorado, is 8-2 with a 2.71 ERA (149.2 IP, 45 ER), the lowest ERA by a Rockies reliever in club history (min. 135 innings pitched) … was originally claimed off waivers by the Rockies from the Chicago Cubs, Sept. 27, 2014. • Estévez, 25, was originally placed on the 10-day disabled list on March 29, retroactive to March 26, with a left oblique strain … made four rehab appearances with Albuquerque, his last on April 15, allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and four strikeouts across 3.2 innings (4.91 ERA) … in 98 career appearances with the Rockies across parts of two seasons, has gone 8-7 with 11 saves, a 5.36 ERA (87.1 IP, 52 ER), 42 walks and 90 strikeouts … was originally signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted international free agent on May 31, 2011.
