Red Sox To Open 2025 Season March 27 In Texas

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, announced today their 2025 regular season schedule, which has the team opening its season on Thursday, March 27, against the Texas Rangers in Arlington.

Boston has previously begun seasons against Texas in 1996, 2006, and 2011, all on the road. The Red Sox will return to Fenway Park for their home opener on Friday, April 4, against the St. Louis Cardinals, marking the first time the club will begin its home schedule against St. Louis.

The Red Sox will host the Atlanta Braves May 16-18 as part of MLB’s new “Rivalry Weekend,” which matches clubs against their natural rival. The Pittsburgh Pirates will play just their fourth regular season series at Fenway Park (August 29-31), while the Los Angeles Dodgers (July 25-27) and Cincinnati Reds (June 30-July 2) will each make their fifth regular season visit. The Red Sox will host four other National League teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals (April 4-6), New York Mets (May 19-21), Colorado Rockies (July 7-9), and Miami Marlins (August 15-17).

The Red Sox will travel to the West Coast three times in 2025. The first trip includes series against the Seattle Mariners (June 16-18), San Francisco Giants (June 20-22), and Los Angeles Angels (June 23-25). The club will visit San Diego to face the Padres August 8-10 as part of a six-game road trip before making their final West Coast trip the following month for matchups against the Arizona Diamondbacks (September 5-7) and Athletics (September 8-10).

The Red Sox will play at home on Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 21, to conclude a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox. On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, the club will wrap up a three-game set against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. The team will later open a three-game series at home against the Cleveland Guardians on Labor Day, Monday, September 1.

The Red Sox will host the Yankees for two three-game series in 2025, with matchups in June (13-15) and September (12-14). The club will visit the Bronx for a three-game series in June (6-8) and a four-game set in August (21-24).

The regular season will conclude at Fenway Park with a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers September 26-28.

Game times for the 2025 regular season will be finalized and announced at a later date.
