White Sox Place Jace Fry On Paternity List; Recall Jose Ruiz From Triple-A Charlotte

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s game vs. Texas, the Chicago White Sox placed left-handed pitcher Jace Fry on the paternity list and recalled right-hander José Ruiz from Class AAA Charlotte.

Ruiz, 24, is 1-2 with a 5.45 ERA (20 ER/33.0 IP), 28 strikeouts and one hold in 34 relief appearances over four stints with the White Sox this season. He also has posted a 0.90 ERA (1 ER/10.0 IP) with 11 strikeouts over eight relief outings with Charlotte in 2019.

Fry, 26, has gone 2-4 with a 5.01 ERA (23 ER/41.1 IP), 50 strikeouts and 11 holds in 53 appearances this season. He is eligible to come off the paternity list after one day but may be on for as many as three.
