White Sox finalize 2022 Opening Day roster
DETROIT – Prior to tomorrow afternoon’s Opening Day game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox announced the following 12 roster moves:
· Recalled INF Jake Burger and RHP Matt Foster from Class AAA Charlotte;
· Selected the contracts of LHP Tanner Banks and RHP Kyle Crick from Charlotte;
· Placed RHPs Ryan Burr (retroactive to April 4; right shoulder strain), Joe Kelly (retroactive to April 4; right biceps nerve injury) and Lance Lynn (retroactive to April 4; right knee surgery to repair torn tendon), LHP Garrett Crochet (retroactive to April 4; left elbow surgery), INF Yoán Moncada (retroactive to April 5; right oblique strain) and OF Yermín Mercedes (retroactive to April 4; left hamate fracture) on the 10-day injured list;
• Designated OF Micker Adolfo for assignment;
• Outrighted C Seby Zavala to Charlotte.
Following the moves, Chicago’s 28-player Opening Day roster includes 14
pitchers, two catchers, seven infielders and five outfielders. The 40-man roster remains at 40. A breakdown of the White Sox season-opening roster and injured list:
• RHP (10): Dylan Cease, Kyle Crick, Matt Foster, Lucas Giolito, Kendall Graveman, Liam Hendriks, Michael Kopech, Reynaldo López, José Ruiz, and Vince Velasquez;

• C (2): Yasmani Grandal and Reese McGuire
• INF (7): José Abreu, Tim Anderson, Jake Burger, Josh Harrison, Leury García, Danny Mendick and Gavin Sheets;
• OF (5): Adam Engel, Eloy Jiménez, AJ Pollock, Luis Robert and Andrew Vaughn;
