White Sox appoint Matt Foster as 27th player
CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have appointed right-handed pitcher Matt Foster from Class AAA Charlotte to serve as the 27th player for Game 2 of a doubleheader vs. Texas.
Foster, 29, is 0-0 with a 2.40 ERA (4 ER/15.0 IP) and 19 strikeouts in 14 relief appearances with Charlotte this season. He was reinstated from the 60-day injured list on August 16 and made his only appearance of the season with the White Sox that night at Houston, earning a hold after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning.
