White Sox announce three roster moves
SAN DIEGO – Prior to tonight’s game at San Diego, the Chicago White Sox announced the following three roster moves:
- Returned from injury rehabilitation assignment and reinstated from the 15-day injured list (1): RHP Michael Soroka;
- Returned from injury rehabilitation assignment, reinstated from the 15-day injured list and optioned to Class AAA Charlotte (1): RHP Jordan Leasure;
- Designated for Assignment (1): RHP Chad Kuhl.
Soroka has appeared in six injury rehab games with Charlotte, going 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA (3 ER/8.0 IP), .179 (5-28) opponents average, two walks and 12 strikeouts. He has been on the injured list since July 19 with a right shoulder strain suffered in his last outing on July 14 vs. Pittsburgh. Soroka is 0-10 with a 5.23 ERA (42 ER/72.1 IP) and 71 strikeouts over 22 appearances (nine starts) this season, his first with the White Sox.
Leasure, who made five injury rehab appearances with the Knights, has been on the injured list since July 8 with right shoulder impingement. He is 0-2 with a 6.32 ERA (22 ER/31.1 IP) and 26 strikeouts over 33 relief appearances with the Sox in his first major-league season.
Kuhl is 0-2 with a 5.06 ERA (30 ER/53.1 IP), one save and 54 strikeouts over 31 appearances (one start) with Chicago in 2024. He originally signed with the Sox as a minor-league free agent on December 29, 2023.
Following the moves, Chicago’s 40-man roster decreases to 39.
