What’s Happening This Weekend: Phillies vs. White Sox, April 19-21
Plus, a special ceremonial pitch in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Temple Health’s first transplant, Phillies Home Run Derby Championship and Citizens Phanatic Birthday with MLB and local mascots!
The Phillies will close out the homestand with three games against the Chicago White Sox on April 19-21. Here’s a look at some of the fan highlights surrounding this weekend’s games:
1. On Friday, April 19, at 6:40 p.m., the Phillies will wear their Nike MLB City Connect uniforms for another Lights Up // Friday Night at the Bank.
- Before the game, Team Red White & Blue and Yuengling will kick off the Old Glory Relay, during which an American flag will be carried from Philadelphia to Chicago across a 30-day, 1,600-mile relay journey. The flag will begin its trek on the field at Citizens Bank Park.
- Also pregame, in honor of Temple Health’s first transplant, 70-year-old Steve Tirney of Delaware County, will throw a ceremonial first pitch to celebrate his full recovery from a lung transplant and coronary artery bypass performed by Temple University Hospital’s chief of cardiovascular surgery Dr. Yoshiya Toyoda.
- Fans 21 and over: stop by the Miller Lite Friday Happy Hour at Miller Lite Liberty Landing, featuring Miller Lite specials until the first pitch.
2. The series continues Saturday, April 20, at 6:05 p.m. Winners of that morning’s Phillies Home Run Derby Championship presented by Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach, REALTORS will be honored on-field before the game.
- Officer Raul Ortiz, who was injured last year in the line of duty, will be honored as the Rothman Hometown Hero in the 3rd inning.
- Join the fun at the Budweiser Block Party with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.
3. Be in your seats by 1:00 p.m. as the Phillies celebrate the best mascot in sports on Sunday, April 21, during the Citizens Phanatic Birthday before that day’s 1:35 p.m. game!
- All children 14 and under will receive Phanatic Mittens, courtesy of Citizens, when they enter the game.
- On-field festivities for the Phillie Phanatic’s birthday celebration include a fun-filled baseball game with MLB and local mascots.
- Plus, the entire ballpark is invited to sing “Happy Birthday” as a birthday cake, compliments of The GIANT Company and baked by Andrea Gana from Yardley, Pa., will be delivered to the Phanatic along with a Citizens birthday card signed by fans.
- Kids can enjoy complimentary face painting at The Yard before and during the game.
4. Place your bids on signed and game-used items during the Phillies Charities, Inc. Online Auction, benefitting The Pennsylvania SPCA at phillies.com/auctions! Bidding ends on Monday, May 6, at 10:00 p.m.
- Items include those signed by Alec Bohm, Nick Castellanos, Bryce Harper, Brandon Marsh, Kyle Schwarber, Edmundo Sosa, Bryson Stott and Taijuan Walker.
5. Fans are invited to enroll in MLB’s Go-Ahead Entry on the MLB Ballpark app, a free-flow ballpark entry experience that allows ticket holders the ability to enter the ballpark at full walking speed without stopping.
Go-Ahead Entry lanes are located at the First Base, Third Base and Left Field Gates.
Fans who enrolled in Go-Ahead Entry last year will need to re-enroll for the 2024 season.

- Bag Policy: In an effort to expedite entry, guests are prohibited from bringing non-clear bags, including backpacks and draw-string bags, into the ballpark. Only clutch purses and/or fanny packs (no larger than 5" x 7"), clear bags (no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"), medical bags, and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park. All bags will be subject to inspection upon entry in accordance with Major League Baseball security regulations.
- Uber RideShare Lot: Lot T is designated for Uber RideShare for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area.
- Parking: Please click here for a parking map. Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game.
