Twins place right-handed pitcher Homer Bailey on 10-day injured list

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Homer Bailey on the 10-day Injured List with right biceps tendinitis (retro to July 29). Bailey, who was signed by the Twins in the off-season, made the start on Tuesday vs. St. Louis, allowing two runs on four hits in 5.0 innings pitched and earned the win in a 6-3 Twins victory.

To replace Bailey on the 30-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Sean Poppen. The 26-year-old appeared in four games for the Twins in 2019, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in 8.1 innings pitched with five walks and nine strikeouts. Poppen will be available for today’s game vs. Cleveland and will wear uniform number 71.
