Twins place Joey Gallo on 10-day injured list
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder/first baseman Joey Gallo on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to June 2) with a left hamstring strain.
Gallo has hit .188 (26-for-138) with five doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 23 RBI, 25 walks, 21 runs scored and a .321 on-base percentage in 46 games for the Twins this season. This is his second stint on the Injured List this season, after missing time from April 11-19 with a right intercostal strain.
To replace Gallo on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder Kyle Garlick from Triple-A St. Paul. Garlick, who will be making his third stint with the Twins this season, recently played in three games for the Saints, going 2-for-12 with two home runs, three RBI and one walk. In eight games for the Twins this season, he has hit .235 (4-for-17) with one double, two home runs, four RBI, two walks, two runs scored, a .316 on-base percentage, a .647 slugging percentage and a .963 OPS.
