Twins announce initial 2023 Theme Nights lineup
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins today announced their first 29 scheduled “Theme Nights” for the 2023 regular season at Target Field, a lineup that again showcases the diversity of our region, revels in pop culture phenomena and musical icons, delivers the pomp and circumstance of college pride, brings other sports together, and celebrates fun – all through the shared joy and experience of baseball.

While many favorites return, the Twins are excited to introduce six new Theme Nights in 2023: Work from the Ballpark Day (April 26 vs. New York-AL), DC Comics Night (May 12 vs. Chicago-NL), Country Night (July 21 vs. Chicago-AL), Harry Potter Night (August 4 vs. Arizona), Light Up the North Night (August 29 vs. Cleveland) in celebration of the NAGAAA Gay Softball World Series coming to the Twin Cities this summer, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Night (September 8 vs. New York-NL).
Highlights of the Twins’ initial 2023 Theme Nights lineup are below; the full 29-game schedule, with corresponding premium giveaway items, follows.
- Be True to Your School: Join the Twins and fellow alumni in celebrating the colleges and universities of Twins Territory on University of St. Thomas Night (April 25 vs. New York-AL); St. Cloud State University Night (May 9 vs. San Diego); College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University Night (May 23 vs. San Francisco); North Dakota State University Night (June 13 vs. Milwaukee); University of North Dakota Night (June 20 vs. Boston); Gustavus Adolphus College Night (June 21 vs. Boston); University of Minnesota Night (July 22 vs. CWS); South Dakota State University Night (July 25 vs. Seattle); Minnesota State University, Mankato Night (August 15 vs. Detroit); and St. Olaf College Night (September 12 vs. Tampa Bay). The Twins are also proud to host the inaugural Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Night on September 8 (vs. New York-NL).
- Get Your Fill of Pop (Culture): A trip to the ballpark becomes a visit to a new land, as Target Field transforms into Gotham City (the first-ever DC Comics Night on May 12 vs. Chicago-NL); Hogwarts (the inaugural Harry Potter Night on August 4 vs. Arizona); a galaxy far, far, away (Star Wars Night on August 18 vs. Pittsburgh); and an alternate universe (Marvel Super Heroes Night on August 25 vs. Texas).
- Music to Our Ears: Come for the music, stay for the baseball as the Twins again honor the legacy of the Purple One on Prince Night (June 2 vs. Cleveland), do the boot scootin’ boogie on the first-ever Country Night (July 21 vs. Chicago-AL) and enjoy a cheeseburger in paradise on Margaritaville Night (August 19 vs. Pittsburgh).
- Bigger than Baseball: The Twins are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and empowering environment for all guests at each and every Target Field event; this season, the club will again celebrate Pride Night presented by Target (June 16 vs. Detroit), before welcoming the 2023 NAGAAA Gay Softball World Series to the Twin Cities on Light Up the North Night (August 29 vs. Cleveland). The Twins will also continue their longstanding efforts to strike out cancer on Cancer Awareness Day (April 29 vs. Kansas City).
- #OneMN: All of Minnesota sports – the teams and their fans – are a family; in 2023, join the Twins in celebrating SKOL Night (July 24 vs. Seattle), Minnesota Wild Night (August 28 vs. Cleveland) and, in a special toast to baseball on both sides of the river, the club’s Triple-A affiliate on St. Paul Saints Night presented by CHS (June 19 vs. Boston).
- Wine, Women and Baseball: This popular series – including a special hospitality event – returns with four installments in 2023: May 28 (vs. Toronto), June 21 (vs. Boston), July 5 (vs. Kansas City) and August 15 (vs. Detroit).
