Twins and U.S. Bank announce three businesses for the 2024 "Creator's Corner" at Target Field
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Using their shared platforms to spotlight and elevate small businesses and entrepreneurs from diverse and underserved communities, the Minnesota Twins and U.S. Bank today announced the participating companies for the 2024 “Creator’s Corner presented by U.S. Bank”: Barefoot Potter (founded by Lei Washington), Fox Lake Furniture (founded by Samantha Breneman) and United Goods (founded by Christy Johnson).
Beginning with the Twins’ 2024 Home Opener on Thursday, April 4, each business will have dedicated retail space inside Target Field’s Gate 34 area – the ballpark’s “front porch” – for all 81 regular season home games, plus any potential Postseason contests. Retail support, including staffing, will be provided by Twins foodservice and retail partner Delaware North, allowing the companies to maintain operations both at Target Field and their own brick-and-mortar locations. The Twins will again collaborate with the companies to feature, promote and sell their products, while making a financial investment in each.
“On behalf of the Twins and our partners at U.S. Bank, we are thrilled to introduce a new group of amazing and diverse companies to our fans at Target Field,” said Twins Executive Vice President & CBO Meka Morris. “Creator’s Corner quickly became a must-visit ballpark retail destination last season, delivering unique products and stories with a personal touch. Barefoot Potter, Fox Lake Furniture and United Goods are all more than deserving of the Target Field spotlight, each a powerful illustration of the positive impact fostered by our community’s small businesses. We cannot wait to welcome Lei, Samantha, Christy and their teams to the Twins family in 2024.”
Barefoot Potter, Fox Lake Furniture and United Goods were selected from the 2024 applicant pool with input from a diverse committee of local community and business leaders, and staff from the Twins and U.S. Bank. Applications for the 2025 Creator’s Corner presented by U.S. Bank are now open at twins.com/creatorscorner.
2024 Creator’s Corner presented by U.S. Bank
- Barefoot Potter was founded by Lei Washington, a Minneapolis-based home potter and artist. An educator by day, Lei first fell in love with the medium in high school; now, she creates pottery that embodies who she is, with her work displaying themes of joy, sass, whimsy and nature. Lei hopes her pieces bring happiness to her customers each time they use it.
- Fox Lake Furniture has its origins in summer 2012, when Samantha Breneman needed a coffee table for her college house. She enlisted the help of her grandfather, Wayne, and they built the table out of an old shipping pallet and a couple of boards from his garage. Nurturing the joy of that project, Samantha founded Fox Lake Furniture in 2015 and today crafts unique furniture and home accessories from locally sourced lumber in her Trimont, MN woodshop.
- United Goods was created by founder and CEO Christy Johnson, who has been a Minneapolis-based graphic designer and artist since 2003. A lifelong creative, Christy has developed a unique style of illustration and now creates minimalist, graphic prints. Today, she creates high-quality giclee prints that celebrate U.S. landmarks with special meaning to her customers – “memories in a frame” that are hand-drawn digitally, with a mouse. Christy’s small-but-mighty art pieces are placed in frames handmade by her parents.
