The Astros return to Minute Maid Park to host the Kansas City Royals in a four-game series

HOUSTON, Texas –The Astros return to Minute Maid Park for a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals, Aug. 29-September 1.

Highlights of the homestand include a celebration of Houston Olympians from the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics and Dog Day, presented by Handmade Tito’s Vodka. Giveaways include an Astros Players and Dogs Calendar and a Justin Verlander and Dogs Bobblehead, presented by Texas Bay Credit Union.

Thursday, Aug. 29 – Astros vs. Kansas City Royals: 7:10 p.m. CT
The Astros open up the four-game series with the Royals on Thursday at 7:10 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

The National Anthem will be performed by Duchesne Academy.

Friday, Aug. 30 – Astros vs. Kansas City Royals: 7:10 p.m. CT
Game two of the series against the Royals is set for 7:10 p.m. CT on Friday. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans will receive an Astros Players and Dogs Calendar.

Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Michelob Ultra Bar, where fans can enjoy $5 Ultra Draft, a live DJ and amazing views.

The Astros will celebrate and honor the Houston Olympians that competed in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on Friday. The highlight of that celebration is seven-time gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Also, in honor of the Astros’ celebration of Houston Olympians, beginning Friday at 9 a.m. CT, fans will be able to purchase select tickets for $7 for Friday’s game. For more information and to purchase, visit astros.com/tickets.

Jeremy Peña will host students from Shadowbriar Elementary of Houston ISD on Friday as part of his Peña’s Pals program. In its second year, Pena’s Pals is a program developed by Jeremy in partnership with the Astros Foundation. He wants to celebrate kids and their development in academics, character building and making healthy choices. During the 2024 season, Jeremy will choose a school/organization and pick five Peña Pals students based on character, grades and growth. Those five students will be treated to an Astros game courtesy of Peña, and will attend batting practice, receive special Peña’s Pals shirts and more.

The National Anthem will be performed by Kingwood Choir.

In honor of Friday’s celebration of Houston Olympians, a portion of the proceeds from Friday’s LGI Homes Share2Care 50/50 Raffle will go to Friends of the Children, a nonprofit that works with foster kids and mental health. Simone Biles was instrumental in bringing a chapter of the organization to her hometown of Houston.

Friday Night Fireworks presented by ConocoPhillips are set for postgame, featuring the musical theme of the Olympics. Fireworks are subject to weather. In the event a show must be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be granted.

Saturday, Aug. 31 – Astros vs. Kansas City Royals: 6:10 p.m. CT
Game three of the series against the Royals is set for 6:10 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans will receive a Justin Verlander and Dogs Bobblehead presented by Texas Bay Credit Union.

The National Anthem will be performed by Creekwood Middle School.

In a pregame ceremony, the Astros Foundation and Honeywell will celebrate the Honeywell Robotics/Science Teachers of the Year. Honeywell, a proud sponsor of the Astros Foundation, hosts Robotics Camps throughout the city each summer and the camp participants have the opportunity to come to Astros games on Sunday during the summer and demonstrate to other children their robotics and coding knowledge. As part of the partnership Honeywell also highlights award-winning coding robotics and science teachers in the Houston community. After the Robotics Camps this summer, the Hometown heroes include: Divya Kaushal of Jordan High School, Josh Krieger of Collins Intermediate, Gwenanne Michalsky of Woodcreek Middle School, Dr. Carlana English of Young Women’s College Prep Academy, Shannon Fanning of Baker Sixth Grade Center, Nelly Cervantes of Anne Sullivan Elementary, Prathea Walker of Leadership and Global Studies Academy, Daniel Doremus of Clements High School and Forrest Peugnet of Fort Settlement Middle School.

Sunday, Sept. 1 – Astros vs. Kansas City Royals: 1:10 p.m. CT
The Astros will finish off the series against the Royals on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

Sunday is Dog Day, presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The first 500 dogs to enter the ballpark will receive a special Astros dog leash & Orbit waste bag holder.

Additionally, there will be a custom pet tag machine that allows you to create a personalized Astros-themed dog tag for your furry friend’s collar.

In order to purchase a Dog Day ticket, pet parents must complete the Dog Day Waiver, provide the most recent Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines and practice responsible pet ownership.

Field Box Tickets are sold out, but fans can still purchase standing room only tickets located in Hall of Fame Alley.

Open at every home Astros game from the time gates open until the end of the seventh inning, fans can purchase one-of-a-kind bats, baseballs, photos, artwork and more signed by current Astros and Astros greats. Other items signed by local Houston celebrities are also available, along with special fundraising items with all the proceeds also going to the Astros Foundation.

ASTROS FOUNDATION AUCTIONS
The Astros Foundation will hold online auctions featuring autographed memorabilia at the beginning of specific homestands. These auctions will run until the end of each homestand, with all proceeds benefiting the Astros Foundation. Every auction will be held on the MLB Houston Astros Auction website.
