The Astros are set to defend their 2022 World Series title as they open the 2023 campaign with a seven-game homestand

HOUSTON, Texas – The Astros begin defense of their 2022 World Series title on Thursday, March 30 at 6:08 p.m. CT against the Chicago White Sox at Minute Maid Park. Overall, the Astros open the 2023 season with a seven-game homestand, with four against the White Sox, March 30 – April 2 and three against the Detroit Tigers, April 3-5.

The Astros have a packed homestand to open up the season, highlighted by celebrations for the 2022 World Series Champions on both Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31. There are also great giveaways for all fans all weekend long with a Jeremy Peña Bobblehead, presented by Coca-Cola, a Jeremy Peña World Series Replica Ring, presented by Coca-Cola and a Yordan Alvarez World Series Replica Ring, presented by Gallery Furniture.

Thursday, March 30 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 6:08 p.m.
The Astros open defense of their 2022 World Series title on Thursday against the White Sox at 6:08 p.m. CT. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN, with radio nationally on ESPN Radio. Locally, fans will be able to hear the broadcast on KBME 790 AM and KTRH 740. Local Spanish radio can be heard on TUDN 93.3 FM.

All fans will receive a schedule magnet, presented by United Airlines.

The popular Opening Day Street Fest, presented by Budweiser will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Festivities include live music, face painters and caricature artists, photo booths, inflatables, balloon displays, giveaways, food trucks and more. A game ticket is required to enter Opening Day Street Fest. Fans are encouraged to get to their seats early to take in a special Opening Day pregame ceremony recognizing the 2022 World Series Champions. Budweiser’s Clydesdales will also be a part of the pregame festivities.

The National Anthem will be sung by country music superstar and Houston area native, Cody Johnson, while our nation’s colors are presented by Joint Services Color Guard. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Houston native, three-time Grammy Award-Winning artist, philanthropist and entrepreneur Megan Thee Stallion. The Play Ball call will be made by actor and businessman Mark Wahlberg. God Bless America will be sung by Promise Harris.

A portion of the LGI Homes Share2Care 50/50 raffle on Thursday will go towards the Astros Foundation Mississippi tornado relief efforts.

Friday, March 31 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 7:10 p.m.
Game two of the series with the White Sox is set for 7:10 p.m. CT on Friday. The game will be televised live on AT&T SportsNet with the English radio broadcast on KTRH 740 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM.

Champions Weekend, presented by Coca-Cola will begin with a pregame Player Ring Ceremony, presented by Jostens, when the 2022 Astros will receive their World Series rings.

Country music legend and Houston native Lyle Lovett will sing the National Anthem. Former Astro great and member of the 2022 World Series team that retired during the offseason, Jason Castro, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Houston legendary rapper Paul Wall will have the Play Ball call.

All fans in attendance will receive a replica World Series Trophy.

Pregame Happy Hour presented by Budweiser will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Michelob Ultra Bar. Fans can enjoy $5 Ultra Drafts, a live D.J. and amazing views.

Friday Night Fireworks presented by ConocoPhillips are set for postgame, featuring the musical theme Ready2Reign. Friday Night Fireworks are subject to weather. In the event a show must be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be granted.

Saturday, April 1 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 1:10 p.m.
Champions Weekend, presented by Coca-Cola, continues with game three of the series against the White Sox on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on AT&T SportsNet with the English radio broadcast on KTRH 740 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM. The game will also be available nationally on ESPN Radio.

All fans in attendance will receive a Jeremy Peña MVP Bobblehead, presented by Coca-Cola.

A pregame ceremony will take place to recognize the Astros 2022 Gold Glove Award winners Jeremy Peña and Kyle Tucker and 2022 Silver Slugger winners, Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez.

The National Anthem will be sung by Danielle Bradbery, season four winner of The Voice. Texas country music star and Houston native Parker McCollum will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Sunday, April 2 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 1:10 p.m.
Champions Weekend, presented by Coca-Cola, concludes with game four of the series against the White Sox on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on AT&T SportsNet with the English radio broadcast on KTRH 740 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM.

All fans in attendance will receive a Jeremy Peña World Series Replica Ring, presented by Coca-Cola.

Kid’s Run the Bases, presented by Olshan Foundation Solutions, will occur for all kids in attendance ages 5-12 after the game.

The National Anthem and God Bless America will be performed by the Powell Brothers.

Monday, April 3 – Astros vs. Detroit Tigers: 7:10 p.m.

It is the first Space City Monday of 2023, and the Astros will don their Nike City Connect Space City uniforms.

The second annual Autism Awareness Night is set for Monday, April 3. This night features a special pregame ceremony and unique activations around the ballpark, including lower PA volume in sections 156, 305 and 405. There is also a sensory room located in Champions Pavilion by section 256. Fans can purchase a special Autism Awareness Night hat ticket add-on for just $20. Autism Awareness Night will feature a special pregame ceremony and a special first pitch from 10-year-old Brady Columbus on behalf of Bregman Cares Brady Columbus is Alex Bregman’s godson who was diagnosed with Autism at three years old and is why a big part of Bregman Cares charity work is dedicated to Autism awareness.

Tuesday, April 4 – Astros vs. Detroit Tigers: 7:10 p.m.

Every Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park is Dollar Dog Night, presented by Texas Chili Company. Fans are treated to all-you-can-eat hot dogs that are just $1 each Tuesday home game during the season.

Wednesday, April 5 – Astros vs. Detroit Tigers: 1:10 p.m.
The Astros finish off their season opening seven-game homestand against the Tigers on Wednesday, April 5 at 1:10 p.m. CT.

ASTROS TV BROADCASTS
Unless otherwise indicated because of a national broadcast, Astros local broadcasts are exclusively on AT&T SportsNet. Coverage begins off with a special hour- long pregame show starting at 6pm. All season long Astros coverage will include Astros Pregame Show and Postgame Shows with Kevin Eschenfelder returning as host.
