Rangers to host Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels in six-game homestand, April 11-17 at Globe Life Field
Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers will return to Globe Life Field on Monday, April 11, for the first home games of the 2022 50th anniversary season.
The Rangers will face the Colorado Rockies in the home opener on Monday, April 11, at 3:05 p.m., and conclude the two-game interleague series on Tuesday, April 12, with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
The homestand will continue Thursday when the Rangers face the Los Angeles Angels in a four-game series. Games will be played on Thursday, April 14, at 7:05 p.m., Friday, April 15, at 7:05 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at 6:05 p.m., and Sunday, April 17, at 1:35 p.m.
Monday’s home opener will include a ceremonial first pitch from Orion Jean, Time Magazine’s 2021 Kid of the Year and Mansfield ISD sixth grader, and a National Anthem performance from Vanessa Vandergriff, the anthem singer at the Rangers' very first game in Arlington on April 21, 1972.
Fans attending the home opener will also experience a live mariachi band, newly announced concessions items, and get a first look at the new 50th anniversary branding around the ballpark.

On Tuesday, April 12, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation is teaming up with the Round Rock Express, the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate, to aid the Round Rock community after recent tornadoes passed through the area. All proceeds from the Tuesday’s Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle will be donated to the Round Rock Community Foundation.
On Friday, April 15, the Texas Rangers will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier. The Texas Rangers will don the famous number 42 in Jackie’s honor.
The first 15,000 fans in the ballpark on Friday, will receive a Charley Pride Bobblehead, presented by Medical City Healthcare. The bobblehead captures the late country music legend and long-time friend of the Texas Rangers performing one of his famous clubhouse concerts.
Friday’s ceremonial first pitch will be tossed by Social Impact Leader and North Texas native Dr. Opal Lee. Dr. Lee often referred to as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” played an instrumental role in the movement to make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday. Dr. Lee will be joined on the mound by 1970s Rangers alumni Al Oliver and Ferguson Jenkins.
The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will donate all proceeds from Friday’s Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle to the Jackie Robinson Foundation and MLB Players Alliance.
On Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, the club will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Rangers’ first game and 1970s alumni, with several former players set to attend the series between the Rangers and Angels.
The first 15,000 fans at the ballpark on Friday will receive a Corey Seager 1972 Replica Jersey T-shirt, presented by Bally Sports Southwest. The t-shirt, modeled after the original Texas Rangers uniform, is the first Seager giveaway item of the season.
Dick Bosman, starting pitcher at the first-ever Texas Rangers game in Anaheim on April 15, 1972, will also throw a ceremonial first pitch on Friday, April 15.
Rangers 1970s alumni will be signing autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley on the Globe Life Field main concourse. Jeff Burroughs, Toby Harrah, and Al Oliver will be available for autographs on Friday, April 15, from 5:15–6:15 p.m. Dick Bosman, Ferguson Jenkins, and Jim Sundberg will sign autographs on Saturday, April 16, from 4:15–5:15 p.m.

For all home games this season, fans will be able to protect their ticket purchase with FanShield.
