Temple Health to provide free ‘Back to School’ COVID-19 vaccinations with Phillies Perks on September 21 at Citizens Bank Park

Temple Health and the Phillies are teaming up to help students have a safe return to school by offering free “Back to School” COVID-19 vaccinations on Tuesday, September 21, during the 7:05 p.m. game against the Baltimore Orioles at Citizens Bank Park.

Guests must be at least 12 years of age to be eligible to receive the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. No advance registration is required; adults can also receive the vaccine free of charge. Fans must have a ticket to that night’s game to participate. Note: the second Pfizer COVID-19 dose can be scheduled three weeks from the first dose date at any Temple Health facility or other location that provides the second needed dose.

Temple’s healthcare providers will administer the vaccine, as well as be on site to answer any questions.

“We are pleased to be teaming up with the Phillies to continue our mission of offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to our communities,” Michael A. Young, MHA, FACHE, President and CEO of Temple University Health System and Temple University Hospital. “Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19 and we urge everyone who is able to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible.”

The “Back to School” COVID-19 vaccinations provided by Temple Health will be available at the Suite Patio (adjacent to the Boardwalk Eats concessions area in the Left Field Plaza) as soon as gates open until the fifth inning.

“This is a great opportunity for students, as well as adults, to check the COVID-19 vaccine off their back-to-school list,” said Phillies Executive Vice President David Buck. “Thank you to Temple Health for providing this invaluable and free service to our fans. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated if they haven’t already.”

As an added incentive, those who receive their vaccines at this event will receive a voucher for two free tickets to a 2022 Phillies game, with date selection from the New York Mets (April 11-13), Milwaukee Brewers (April 22-24) or Colorado Rockies (April 25-28) series at Citizens Bank Park. Participants will also receive a concession credit voucher for a free hot dog and soda, as well as a Phillies giveaway.

In addition, fans who get their back-to-school vaccinations that night will have the chance to meet Temple University’s Hooter the Owl, who will also be receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with help from the Phillie Phanatic.
