Tanner Scott of the San Diego Padres Named the National League Reliever of the Month for July; Emmanuel Clase of the Cleveland Guardians Named the American League Reliever of the Month for July

Closer Tanner Scott, who was traded earlier this week from the Miami Marlins to the San Diego Padres, has been voted the National League Reliever of the Month for July, and closer Emmanuel Clase of the Cleveland Guardians has been named the American League Reliever of the Month for July. The announcements were made earlier today on MLB Network.

Scott, who made all 10 of his appearances during the month with Miami, earned his second career Reliever of the Month Award after winning with the Marlins for September/October of last season, and he is the first Miami reliever to win multiple times. Other Marlins winners include Todd Jones (August 2005) and Kyle Barraclough (June 2018). Clase, who won for a second time this season, picked up his sixth career Reliever of the Month Award. In addition to his win in May of this season, Clase was also honored in August 2021, June 2022, August 2022 and September/October 2022. With his sixth award, Clase becomes just the third reliever to win a Reliever of the Month Award on at least six occasions, joining Edwin Díaz (8) and Josh Hader (6).
