Rays open three-team, nine-game homestand
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field tomorrow for a three-team, nine-game homestand against the Boston Red Sox (April 22-24), Seattle Mariners (April 26-28) and Minnesota Twins (April 29–May 1). The 2022 Rays season is presented by Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Friday, April 22 vs. Boston Red Sox
- First Pitch: 7:10 p.m.
- Gates Open: 5:40 p.m.
- Jackie Robinson Day: The Rays will commemorate the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball’s color barrier in 1947 with a No. 42 hat giveaway available to all fans while supplies last. The Rays will also recognize their 2022 Racial Equity Grant recipients at the end of the 3rd inning: Arts Conservatory for Teens, Brain Expansions Scholastic Training Inc., Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, Pace Center for Girls Hillsborough County and The Skills Center. The Rays Baseball Foundation and Rowdies Soccer Fund created the Racial Equity Grant Fund to build power within communities that have been historically overlooked and purposefully disadvantaged due to systemic racism. In addition, the Rays will be hosting students from The Write Field, a writing and mentoring program for young African American and Hispanic men from middle and high schools in Pinellas County. The students will have the opportunity to interview Bally Sports Sun broadcaster Xavier Scruggs during the game.
- National Anthem: Lift Every Voice and Sing (Black National Anthem) and The Star-Spangled Banner will be performed by Nasja Moné.
- Ceremonial First Pitch: St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch.
- 7th Inning Stretch: Will be performed by members of the Pinellas County Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
Saturday, April 23 vs. Boston Red Sox
- First Pitch: 6:10 p.m.
- Gates Open: 4:40 p.m.
- Promotion: Randy Arozarena Bobblehead presented by DEX Imaging. Available to all fans while supplies last.

Sunday, April 24 vs. Boston Red Sox

- For The Kids: Sundays are Family Fun Days. Every Sunday home game will feature family fun performers, including face painters and balloon artists. In addition, the Rays will offer a youth baseball and softball pregame parade around the warning track for kids 14 years and under. This season also marks the return of Kids Run the Bases following the conclusion of the game.
Tuesday, April 26 vs. Seattle Mariners

- Tuesday’s Champion: Before every Tuesday home game, the Rays recognize a child from the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Children’s Dream Fund as part of the “Tuesday’s Champion” program, presented by RIPA & Associates. The Rays will recognize 6-year-old Trinity D’Autorio from the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a ceremonial first pitch.

- Mental Health Awareness: As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Rays will hold a pregame moment of silence in honor of former Rays bullpen catcher Jean Ramirez, who died by suicide in January. In addition, the pitcher’s mound at Tropicana Field will feature a stencil of Ramirez’s No. 98 on the side of it. Rays players will wear “98” stickers on their batting helmets and green ribbons on their chest throughout May in remembrance of Ramirez and in support of mental health awareness. The Rays will also be hosting an online auction that will include the No. 98 Ramirez jerseys worn by players and a pair of cleats designed by Ramirez and worn by Brandon Lowe during the March 25 spring training game, as well as other pieces of equipment and memorabilia. The auction will run from May 1-18 and the proceeds will benefit the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Fans can participate at RaysBaseball.com/Auctions.

- Dog Day: Fans can bring their dogs to Tropicana Field as part of Sunday’s Dog Day. The $30 ticket package includes a ticket for one fan and their dog in the Rays Party Deck and a choice of one Rays dog-themed item. Item choices include a dog collar, collapsible water bowl, chew toy or waste bag dispenser. Fans with two or more dogs must have an additional adult “owner” accompanying the additional canine. Fans must sign a waiver stating that their dog’s vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian are current. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, April 28 at 11:59 p.m.

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay provides a range of services to ensure that no one in the community has to face a crisis alone. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as the community gateway to help. People struggling with various crisis situations, including sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts and other emotional or situational problems can connect to hope and healing.
