Rangers to host Mariners during 4-game homestand, Aug. 29-Sept. 1
Arlington, Texas — The Rangers return to Texas tomorrow, Thursday, August 29 to open a four-game homestand against the Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Game time is 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30, while first pitch has been moved to 7:35 p.m. for Saturday, August 31 to accommodate the pre-game number retirement ceremony for Michael Young. The brief homestand concludes with a 2:05 p.m. matchup on Sunday, September 1.
The Rangers will celebrate Korean Heritage Night on Friday. Pre-game festivities will include performances by Korean dance teams Hues and UNIT X. Outfielder Shin-Soo Choo will sign autographs from 5:00-5:30 p.m. And the first 500 tickets for the event purchased through texasrangers.com/themenights will receive a custom cap designed by Choo to honor his heritage.
Friday marks the beginning of Star Wars Weekend, as characters will be on the concourse before games Friday and Saturday. T-Mobile Friday Fireworks will be set to a Star Wars theme, and fans purchasing Theme Night tickets through texarangers.com/themenights to Saturday’s game can receive a custom First Odor Stormtrooper bobblehead.
On Saturday, Young will become the fifth Ranger to have his uniform number retired by the club, joining Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan’s #34 in 1996, former manager Johnny Oates’ #26 in 2005, Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez’ #7 in 2017, and third baseman Adrian Beltre’s #29 this past June. The on-field ceremony will begin at 6:40 p.m.

Saturday is also Veterans Appreciation Night, as the Rangers will honor the brave men and women who have served in all branches of the armed forces. Theme Night tickets purchased through texasrangers.com/themenights will receive a military-themed Texas Rangers cap.
Sunday is a $1 Blue Bell Ice Cream Sunday.
