Rangers announce Minor League Award Winners for June

The 19-year-old Lemos slashed .453/.500/.813/1.313 (34-75) with 4 home runs, 3 triples, 9 doubles, and 29 RBI across 18 games between Texas’ Rookie-level Dominican Summer League Rangers Red and Arizona Complex League Rangers affiliates in June. He produced multiple hits in 11 of 15 contests in the Dominican Summer League, including a 3-hit showing on June 24 at DSL Mets Orange in which he plated a career-high 7 RBI (3-for-4, 2B, BB, 7 RBI, 3 R, HBP). The 6-foot-1, 175-pound switch-hitter was promoted to the ACL Rangers on June 25 and rounded out the month by going 4-for-13 (.308) with a triple, 2 doubles, and 3 RBI over 3 appearances in the first stateside action of his career. Lemos was deployed defensively at three different infield positions last month, making starts at first (13), third (3), and second base (one). The Azua, Dominican Republic native has spent all three seasons of his professional career in the Texas organization after signing with the club as a non-drafted free agent on January 15, 2022.

Teodo, 23, went 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA (4 ER/24.0 IP) and 40 strikeouts/11 walks over 5 appearances/starts for Double-A Frisco in June, holding opposing batters to a .191/.314/.262/.576 slash line. He permitted 2-or-fewer runs in all 5 outings and produced double-digit strikeout totals in 2 of his last 3 starts: June 16 vs. Amarillo (W, 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 11 SO) and June 30 vs. Corpus Christi (ND, 6.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R-0 ER, 1 BB, 10 SO). The right-hander ranked among Texas League leaders for the month (min. 20.0 IP) in strikeouts (1st), strikeouts per 9.0 innings (1st, 15.00), strikeout pct. (1st, 39.2%), and ERA (3rd). Teodo has compiled a 5-2 record, 1.71 ERA (13 ER/68.1 IP), and 89 strikeouts in 14 games/starts for the RoughRiders this season, registering the lowest ERA figure among TL pitchers with at least 10 starts in 2024.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound hurler is currently rated by Baseball America as the no. 7 overall prospect and 5th-best pitching prospect in the Rangers farm system according to mid-season rankings released by the publication on Tuesday. He originally signed with Texas as a non-drafted free agent out of Barahona, Dominican Republic on January 28, 2020.

The 29-year-old Robert was scoreless in 10 relief outings (12.0 IP) for Triple-A Round Rock last month, striking out 12 of 39 (30.8%) batters faced without issuing a walk. Opposing hitters were 2-for-38 (.053) against the right-hander in June, and his .132 opp. BA figure this season remains the lowest among PCL pitchers (min. 30.0 IP). The Hoover, Ala. native had his contract selected by the Rangers on July 8, marking the first Major League stint of his six-year professional career. He was originally selected by Texas in the 21st round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Auburn University.

The 27-year-old Biggers led Triple-A Round Rock (tied) with 11 double plays over 22 games/19 starts in June. He appeared defensively last month at second base (17 G/15 GS), third base (3 G/GS), designated hitter (1 G/GS), and leftfield (1 G), handling 67 total chances with just 2 errors for a .970 fielding percentage. Over 68 games this season, Biggers sports a .983 fielding percentage (4 E/236 TC) in 68 games, spent exclusively at Round Rock. A former 8th-round selection by the Rangers in 2018 from the University of Arkansas, Biggers is in his sixth professional season.
