Rangers announce 2023 Opening Day roster

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced several transactions to set the club’s 26-man Opening Day roster ahead of Thursday’s 11:00 a.m. CT deadline:

The Rangers’ season opener is Thursday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. CT against the Philadelphia Phillies at Globe Life Field. The first date Taveras would be eligible to be activated from the Injured List is April 6. The first date Howard and Sborz are eligible to be activated from the Injured List is April 11.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers are at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players (Brett Martin, Jake Odorizzi, and Glenn Otto) on the 60-day Injured List.
