PNC Park ranked as MLB's best ballpark by USA Today
PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, has earned the top spot in USA TODAY’s national rankings of Major League Baseball ballparks. Determined by baseball reporters and editors from the USA Today network, the honor was unveiled in the publication’s recent article “Ranking MLB’s stadiums from 1 to 30: Baseball travelers’ favorite ballparks.”
Now entering its 24th season, the fact that PNC Park continues to be ranked as the No. 1 in MLB is a testament to the commitment to ensure Pittsburgh remains home to The Best Ballpark in America, according to Pirates President, Travis Williams.
“Throughout the course of the park’s lifetime, especially under the leadership of Bob Nutting, we have worked hard to build upon everything that makes PNC Park so special,” Williams said. “From the ongoing physical enhancements, new food offerings, and expanded historical displays, to how our hosts care for every guest, PNC Park continues to help make Pittsburgh a desirable destination for millions each year.”
The Pirates commitment to the fan experience has been on full display the past two offseason as the Pirates unveiled significant enhancements to the ballpark. Prior to the 2022 season, the Pirates refreshed the Riverwalk experience from foul pole to foul pole in the outfield to bring better sightlines, more social gathering spaces, and additional food and beverage options.
Last season, the Pirates unveiled an enhanced scoreboard in left field that features state-of-the-art technology and twice as much display space as the previous version. The Pirates added video boards, video rings, and a new audio system. Plus, with the benefit of evolving technology, it became faster and easier for fans to enter the ballpark, purchase items at the concessions stands, and move about PNC Park’s concourses.
The Pirates are set to unveil new enhancements currently being made to the ballpark and guest experience at its annual media unveiling event on Tuesday, April 2, three days in advance of the 2024 Home Opener on Friday, April 5, at 4:12 p.m.
