Phillies Charities, Inc. announces 2024 Community Heroes in honor of Giving Tuesday; awards $1.4 million in grants to charitable causes, with $4.6 million in total awarded in 2024

Phillies Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of the Philadelphia Phillies, is proud to announce its 2024 community heroes, celebrating 35 extraordinary area charities which provide vital resources to those in need. Collectively, Phillies Charities, Inc. will be awarding $1.4 million in grants, with each nonprofit organization receiving a $40,000 grant to aid in their efforts to make a difference.

“In celebration of our Season of Giving, it is our honor to award a collective $1.4 million in grants to 35 charitable organizations who have gone above and beyond in our community,” said Phillies Charities, Inc. President John Weber. “These grants will help ensure that the important work of our community heroes will continue, thanks to the tremendous support of our fans, front office employees, sponsors and players, along with their wives or significant others.”

Community heroes (listed below) are from charitable organizations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, as well as near the Phillies minor league affiliates in Clearwater, Reading and Lehigh Valley. Many will be recognized at the team’s Holiday Giving Party on Wednesday, December 4, at Citizens Bank Park, as well as invited to the Phillies game on April 15 against the San Francisco Giants.

In addition to the team’s community heroes, Phillies Charities, Inc. has also bestowed $1.2 million this year to various charitable partners including ALS United Mid-Atlantic, Bethesda Project, Clearwater for Youth and the Police Athletic League, among others.

The Phillies and Phillies Charities, Inc. were also proud to make a significant contribution of $1 million each to Project HOME this past May to help end homelessness, as well as AMPLIFY Clearwater in November to support recovery efforts from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Other endeavors include the Phillies Season of Giving presented by SEI, featuring charitable events throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding area, all aimed at spreading holiday cheer. For more information, visit phillies.com/community.
